Based on the hit British period drama Downton Abbey focuses on the life of the Crawley family, and the surrounding country in Yorkshire, England. We pick up at the end of season two:
Lady Mary and Matthew have recently become engaged throwing Downton into a flurry of activity. On the heels of this news Lady Rosamund and Isidore Levinson, Lady Granthem's mother, arrive both determined to have their say in the wedding. Needless to say Lady Violet has retrieted to her own home, avoiding that "horrid American woman" at all costs. Who would have thought a dry goods merchant from America would be the one to finally drive the dowager from Downton... or has she?
In the battle of wills between Isobel, Isidore, and Violet who will win? More importantly will Mary and Matthew's engagement last the test of time this time around? At last, the young couple have both Matthew's mother and Mary's parents and grandmother on their side but the newly arrived Isidore doesn't seem to like the young heir too much. . . come to think of it nor does dear Lady Edith.
Alas Mary and Matthew aren't the only ones in the family to be the center of drama. Not long before the Christmas holidays at the end of last year Lady Sybil ran away from Downton to become Lady Sybil Branson, against her father's wishes. Despite the rumored forgiveness by her paternal grandmother neither her father nor maternal grandmother have so much spoken a word about the girl since news arrived she was expecting the first Granthem grandchild.
Can the family reconcile by Mary and Matthew's wedding or will Sybil, her socialist husband, and their child be forever cut off from the family she holds so dear?
Downton Abbey
We have a big canon list but there is plenty of room for origonals in all social classes from servants on up.
We're new but there's plenty of promise of activity. Come give us and post-WWI England a try. If you liked Titanic you're sure to love us.
