elizabeth pattered through the halls of hogwarts silently, her boots only making a soft pitter-patter as she walked. the corridors were dark; barely lit by the dimming torches on the walls, giving the school an eerie glow, yet, ellie was not afraid. she'd spent many nights alone in these same dark hallways, usually on prefect duty or sneaking to and from parties. yes, at first hogwarts was simply terrifying, but now she knew every in and out of getting around the creepy castle and used it to her advantage most nights, some of which were similar to tonight. ellie had gotten so distracted with prefect duties and homework earlier in the day that she had completely skipped dinner; on accident of course, she was not one to starve herself like some girls did. so, after not being able to sleep due to her stomach rumbling, ellie was quick to throw on something semi-warm and appropriate over her pajamas and touch up the makeup she had yet to clean off, and started her journey to the kitchens.
the walk from gryffindor tower down to the basement was a long one; which left ellie to thinking. she mainly thought on her family and on her past; on the pureblood parties her parents would drag her brother and herself to, and all of the events that her mother would dress her up for. oh, her mother. she couldn't exactly call her mother a good person, per say. she was a beautiful woman, widely sought after for being a full veela, and had the pureblood lifestyle down to the t, but apparently she didn't enjoy it at all. when she was younger, ellie looked up to her mother; a beautiful woman with a head of blonde locks and a strong french accent and the belle of the ball, ellie wanted to be her mother when she grew up. but all that changed when her mother was found dead, hanging in her closet. luckily ellie was not the one to find her, instead it being a house elf that found her and alerted her father, but it was depressing all the same.
even to this day ellie could not athom why her mother killed herself; being so young, ellie thought her mother was happy. she would always smile and be sweet and be simply perfect and it just astounded ellie everytime it came to her mind. it was prepostorous and terrible and drove ellie crazy. she just couldn't understand, and she may never understand. shaking her head, ellie sighed, she hated thinking such depressing thoughts, but sometimes her happy attitude needed that culture shock. ellie was quick to approach the kitchens, slightly noticing that her button up was hanging off of her, but she didn't care; it'd probable be only the house elfs in there to see her. turning the corner, ellie smiled sweetly, putting up a happy shell as to not scare the elves.
ellie was slow to notice the other human in the room, disracted by all the elves as they said hello in their own ways. ellie adored the house elves; they were adorable and her families house elves had helped raise her well and console her after her mother died. dodging a few pots and pans that hung down, ellie laughed softly and said,"well, hello guys. it's nice to see you all again." doing a sweep of the room, her eyes stopped on the only other human in the room with a small jolt and a soft gasp, clutching at her heart slightly, ellie let out a short breathe,"sweet merlin! you scared the living hell out of me, i didn't even see you there!" shaking her head, ellie let her hands fall to her side, deftly noticing that her clothes were quite provocative and she was in the same room as a half naked male and many house elves.
