-------------------------------- life was hard. it was hard in the simple fact that ivory was a girl and she had to deal with girl problems. it was hard being muggle born and knowing that if anyone found out that she would be laughed at, cursed at or worse. people were mean, specifically slytherins.
ivory had been eyeing this guy. she didn't know his name, but she did know of the color that seared on his chest. emerald green. a slytherin; a boy who would harrass her to no end if he found out about how filthy her blood actually was. she had kept her muggle parents to herself, only telling the few friends she trusted. but she liked this guy, and she wanted him to see a side of her that she wouldn't be given a chance to show if her mud-blood was known.
she had been on and off. telling herself to go speak to him, to get to know him. she would tell herself yes and gather up the courage and then turn straight around and back off. at this point she had given up. she wasn't meant to go chasing after a boy. probably a stupid boy, as her father had always put it. all boys were stupid to him. but this one? he didn't seem all that stupid. he was cute, smart and she saw something in him that she didn't see in herself. she wanted to know what exactly that was.
but she was chasing after him, and her heart had hit a dead end. she fell down on the shore of the black lake, talking to herself into the midnight air. she had decided no, she wouldn't talk to him. at least not today. soon, maybe. but definitely not today. he most likely was already asleep, while she was wide awake, with nothing but him on her mind.
her toes squished up in the dirty sand and she hugged her knees, pulling them in close. her heart was mourning, and the water really didn't seem to help. she was afraid of water. so why had she come to the lake with so many feet of water just inches away? maybe it was about time to face her fears.

adonis wasn't sure why he was wandering around the grounds of hogwarts. maybe he was just restless, constantly mulling over all the things bestowed upon him. he loved his life and how he lived it, but hated some of the things he had to do. yes, he hated mudbloods and anyone who could look at them, but he wasn't usually one to go out of his way just to torment them. however, he'd grown more comfortable with it over the past few years.
but that night was different. adonis had a tight feeling in his chest, something he usually didn't have. there was something very off inside of him, something that was actually very strange for the young man. adonis was, in every way, a very private man. he spoke little, but when he did speak it was interesting. however, he'd grown even more quite in the three days prior. he knew he needed to figure out what was wrong before he drove himself insane with thinking.
his feet took him to the edge of the black lake, watching little waves break against the shoreline. the water looked even more black than usual, which seemed worthy given it's name. adonis found comfort in the darkness, seeing the faint spots on the water that were stained white from the moon looming overhead. he let his eyes scan the rest of the water, catching a glimpse of something abnormal across the lake. with a dark smile, adonis set off to investigate.
he hope it was a known mudblood. maybe some torture would ease the tension that was taking refuge in his shoulders. he moved quickly, trying to avoid areas with high amounts of light. soon, he was nearing the shadow, gripping his wand in his hand. a few more steps brought him close enough to find he had no clue who the girl was. with a faint sigh, he pocketed his wand and edged forward.
"and you are?" he said, his voice cutting through the still air like a freshly sharpened knife.

-------------------------------- she jumped to her feet at the voice that edged it's way quickly through her mind. she hadn't even noticed the young man walking over to her. her mind had been far off, but now her attention was suffocated around the exact boy she had been yearning after right in front of her. there he was, in the flesh. he was beautiful, and she couldn't help to blush as she noticed she hadn't quite answered his question yet.
"oh, uh, i'm ivory. copper. ivory may copper. yeah." she placed her hands over her face, trying with little effort to cover up her bright red cheeks. her hands ran down her face pulling her eyes into a drooping manner. "gosh i'm so sorry, i usually don't act this, um, weird. you just scared me is all." why did he have to sneak up on her? why couldn't it have been daylight and his footsteps as loud as a giants? now she had called herself weird, and told him her full name. this was not starting well. she let herself plummet to the sand beneath her, curling up again with her knees.
her big eyes looked up at the gorgeous man, a question mark playing along her facial expression. "you must think i'm terribly rude not asking your name." she sighed, "what is your name?" gosh she was so awkward. why couldn't things go smoothly for her, just once? she most likely looked like a royal idiot now, and he couldn't possibly have any interest in a freak like her. she couldn't even say her name calmly. or even be the polite young lady she knew herself to be and ask his name.
her toes buried in the sand, and she silently wished she could bury herself under that sand and never rise again. her black shorts fit her well, rolled up just below her buttocks. her white tank top flowed in the wind, with her platinum curls falling in her face. she had little makeup on, if any, and she wore no jewelry. she was a plain girl, especially tonight.

adonis pocketed his wand quickly, not wanting to frighten the girl. after all, adonis wasn't ruthless like the others he hung around with. they, probably, would have already thought of a curse to use on the poor, clueless girl. running a hand through his dark locks, adnois merely nodded at the girl's attempt at introducing herself. she obviously hadn't expected anyone to grace her with their presence. then again, adnois wasn't ever one to follow rules like those.
"you needed not apologize to me." he stated, figuring the girl would find him rude just as most other people thought. that wasn't true. adnois just wasn't a man of many words. he enjoyed watching and running over different outcomes of the situation. "ivory, my name is adonis dios." he said, watching with keen eyes as she fidgeted. it seemed to adonis she was either very nervous or he'd really caught her off guard. he crossed his arms over his chest and took a deep breath.
adonis couldn't figure out if this girl, ivory cooper, had been on the list of know muggle-borns. he ran over the list in his head, having memorized every name on it shortly after it was released. he was quite sure she wasn't on it. safe enough to talk to her without jeopardizing his life with the death eaters. "why are you here?" he asked, wondering whether his bluntness would anger her.
