It was a lovely summer day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and people were filling the streets, milling around, looking in shop windows and eating in cafes. It was the kind of day you'd expect to enjoy. Everyone was wearing dresses or some combination of short, socks and sandals. There was one exception to the relaxed surroundings: a small blonde haired girl in a red dress running up the street. She ran up the street, dodging between tourists before completely disappearing into thin air.
Erin Connolly appeared in St Mungo's. She had merely vanished from the point of view of the muggles, but actually she had just stepped inside St Mungo's. She waited patiently behind an elderly witch who seemed to be emptying the contents of her purse on the counter. After three minutes had passed, she leaned over the woman's shoulder to ask the welcome witch the whereabouts of her brother. The Welcome Witch annoying told her to look at the floor plan in the future and directed her to Creature Induced Injuries.
Well I didn't know what they had diagnosed it as. She jumped in the elevator, hopping up and down impatiently before bursting through the doors, searching for her brother's ward. The Gunhilda of Gorsemoor Ward, named after the witch who discovered the cure for Dragonpox, was a tiny ward right at the end of the corridor. There were six beds inside, all of which were empty except for the one in the far right hand corner which was surrounded by curtains. She peered around the curtains. "Oh Murtagh". She clung to the curtain tightly, biting her lip, before breaking down.

He been here for at least two days now, his condition having slowly been improving with the magic that healers have been doing. They have been doing their best, for the gryffindor male was a rather serious case. In fact, when he came that night those two days ago, the healers believed that he was a corpse and that he wasn't going to pull threw the night. But like anyone knew, Murtagh was a fighter to the end.
Hidden behind the curtains from passing looks, or questions of how the male survived, Murtagh rested with the sheets drawn over his form bandaged up like a mummy. His skin was healed from the burns, but it was only baby skin of course. The left arm and his right leg were cast with plaster to prevent the healing bones from being even more damaged. But what probably shocked anyone was the missing limbs. His right arm and left leg were missing, only leaving behind the stump of his shoulder and hip. Each limb was wrapped tight and having been covered in healing spells, and ointment to try and ease his agony. But Murtagh was a fighter...and he wouldn't give in to this.
He groaned, hearing his name and what seemed to be the sob cries of someone. His eyes clenched shut before cracking them open clenching again at the light. He blinked twice before glancing at the source, giving a weary smile. Erin. "E-Erin. I'm a-alright." He croaked, voice horse and dry from the lack of drink and the screams.
He would heal but it would take time. A long, tough time.

It wasn't until that moment that she realised she hadn't prepared herself for what she was going to see. The news had reached her in the middle of the night. She had been dreaming about raindrops that tasted like sugar when she was shaken awake by her fellow Gryffindor Summer Wood. "Connolly". Erin had glared at her and turned over, pulling the covers over her head. "Slut!" the girl had shaken her again, "get your arse out of bed. Professor Greyback's in the common room". Erin had shoved her, pushing back her covers and slipping her slippers on. "Good job you're alone in your bed tonight," the girl had continued, before Erin had sworn at her and slipped out of the door.
Professor Greyback had brought the news of the attack on Murtagh. She had held Erin's hand and taken her to the Headmaster's office. Erin had taken a portkey home to explain to her parents what had happened. She knew she wouldn't be able to see her brother for at least two days, as the Professor had explained. Those two days had been terrible. She had sat by the window, searching the sky for any sign of owls bringing news to the little muggle cottage. As soon as she had been given the go ahead, she had convinced her parents to drive her to London. They wouldn't be allowed in until the necessary arrangements were made, there were muggles after all. And that was how Erin had found herself running up a London street.
"Murt, I'm so sorry. I would have come earlier but...but Mum and Dad...I can't believe he did this to you..."

Murtagh closed his eyes drifting back to that night, the night he was first brought in here. He remembered it barely, having been so out of it from the lack of blood in his system. He remembered that the healers thought he wasn't going to make it, for he was too damage and unable to recover. But he had recovered enough to tell them off for being too loud which did get some sense of relief.
And each time he told a healer off when they came to check on his condition, having kept a steady regular check up to make sure the wounds healed correct and there was no sign of infection. And there never was. Their magic was perfect.
Murtagh opened his eyes at his sisters words, hand moving to take hers but it was light. "Shh, sis. I'm oka...okay. I know. I'm surprised he went this far but...but it was coming because of...our blood. That was the reason." He blinked against the light hearing what she said about their parents. They were here? "They're here? They came...?" He questioned, surprise that their parents had made the journey. Then again he supposed it wasn't a surprise. "Can you kill the lights sis...? They're too bright." He questioned giving a smile, showing that he was okay. And he would be.
