It was cold, sure, but with the twisted feelings of excitement and relaxation, swirled like a vanilla and chocolate ice cream cone, Naomi couldn't help but think, worth it.
She had flown to the top of the Quidditch Pitch... the very top. As in, she was perched at the top of the highest pole, sitting in a keeper's hoop, her feet dangling. Her hands gripped the sides as she barely managed to balance. She was comfortable in the sky. Alone... peaceful... the stars bathing her in sparkling light. Naomi loved heights.
She crossed her ankles and tilted back as far as she dared, loving the feeling that she might, indeed, fall.
For now, she was stuck.
The problem came when she'd flown to the hoop, sat herself in it, and then promptly dropped her broom. She was too busy trying to keep herself steady to grab her wand from inside her coat and get it back.
A problem she still hadn't managed to solve yet. And a problem she didn't much care to find a solution to, anyway.
For now, she didn't need to get down. She just needed to balance and look at the sky. The winter wind whipped across her face, making her nose run and her eyes water. She hadn't thought of a warming spell. Good thing she'd remembered a coat.
The night sky was ever so slowly disappearing. It was early... very early. Hours before classes started, but, Naomi was a morning person. She woke up, easy and rested, and ready to watch the night fade and the sun rise from the highest point she could think to get to. And, from where she sat, she could see the tiniest of outlines of an orange glow on the horizon.
"Not long now."
Then, oh then, she'd have to figure out how to get down. But that worry... it was a planet away. tagged: open outfit: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=41745818 notes:carefree junkie lyrics from:Mr. Bob Marley

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------The alarm clock on the bedside table was attacked by a hand which appeared out from under the scarlet duvet. It was way too early to even be considering getting up. Despite this, the sleepy figure of Zane Lestrange soon appeared from under the covers, tripping over his ever so slightly long pyjama bottoms in his attempt to make it across the room. The dormatory was pitch black, as he had been expecting, but it didn't make things any easier. He pulled on his favourite Quidditch polo and the first pair of joggers he could find before heading out, down the stairs, to the common room.
He sat on the sofa for a while, trying to lace up his shoes for five minutes until he realised he had the trainers on the wrong feet and promptly had to switch them over. After sorting this problem, he grabbed his bag from behind the sofa where he always left it and headed out.
The swift jog down to the Quidditch Pitch soon brought Zane to his senses, brushing away the last traces of sleep from his eyes. He took his prized broom out of the shed and walked slowly onto the grass, throwing his bag stuffed with clothes down at the side of the pitch. Just as he was about to mount his broom, he noticed another broomstick lying at the bottom of one of the hoops. He walked over, picking it up and examining it. He looked all around, wondering who could have left it there, considering it was quite a nice broom, before he glanced upwards.
Not wanting to frighten the figure, he mounted his broom and kicked off, flying around the pitch once before stopping next to the girl in question.

The morning sunrise was rather beautiful that morning at hogwarts. Wonderful and calming. A miss Levan smiled happily, standing outside with dressed in her quiditch robes, her broom in hand. She breathed in the morning air, then breathed it out, happy about how this past night was.
It was perfect, and something she loved and was looking forward too. She smiled, beginning to walk forward toward the pitch listening at the calming noises. Her feet gently hit the ground as she arrived upwards, stopping as she scanned around.
She blinked at the two figures by the hoop, resting her hands on her sides. Now that was interesting to see. "Alright now...what do we have here." she muttered curious, fixing her shoes as she kicked on the broom.
She headed upwards toward the two figures, blinking as she saw her fellow team mate and a Zane Cade Lestrange of all people. Now she wasn't surprised about Zane, for he always was up at odd hours for practice. She wasn't shocked about that. It was more of seeing her team mate that got her in question. Werid.
"Zane, what are you doing? Are you bugging, and distrubing my teammates?" She remarked toward the gryffindor, sitting on the side of her broom to stare at the two before looking at her fellow teammate. "Kinda lost your broom, Naomi?" She added raising an eyebrow.

Something caught her attention... something flickering from the side. Lazily, she turned her head and focused on what appeared to be someone flying on a broom. She couldn't tell who or what or how big or any of that... just a dark figure flying.
But she could tell that it was coming closer. And as it got nearer, she began to see the shape of a boy.
She couldn't begin to imagine who would be out on the pitch so early. Naomi knew that very few people in the world were morning people like her.
She didn't understand why, though. She loved mornings. The air smelled fresh, the ground grew soft from the frozen night, and the sky colored like a painting. It was like being born again. From darkness to light, dead to living. The world unwrapped like a present on Christmas.
The sky was orange now, the sun slowly rising higher and higher. The wind blew her hair across her face. She didn't dare let go of the hoop to swipe it away.
The figure was right by her now.
"You appear to be in a bit of a pickle"
It was a boy. She'd seen him around, of course. Hogwarts wasn't that big of a place. But she didn't know his name. Hogwarts wasn't that small of a place, either.
"Kinda."
She smiled and wiggled her body back and forth, still gripping tightly to the sides of the hoop.
"Used my broom to get up here, but I don't think that's how I'm getting down."
She let her eyes fall to where her broom had landed... too many feet down.
Before she could say anymore, another person zoomed up to them. A girl in her house named Eeva.
"Alright now...what do we have here." "Zane, what are you doing? Are you bugging, and distrubing my teammates?" "Kinda lost your broom, Naomi?"
Naomi cocked her head to the side as she stared at the girl.
"Teammate? And yeah... couldn't really hold onto it and myself up here. Ah well, though. I'm sure I'll make it down somehow."

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , ---------------------------------------------------------------------The girl appeared to be a quirky one, not your run of the mill Hogwarts student anyway. For one thing she was just sitting watching the sunrise. Most people were still in bed now. In fact, most of the Quidditch enthusiasts were still in bed, and that was saying something.
He swung his leg over the broom so he could face her properly. "You know, you could just summon your broom up here," he suggested, looking down at the broomstick which was lying far below them. He had to admire her ingenuity. He couldn't think of anyone else who had flown up to one of the hoops just to watch the sunrise. A few students went up to the Astronomy Tower, but the angle wasn't perfect and there was a row of trees which blocked your view until the sun rose above them.
"It's a Cleansweep 14, right?" he asked, looking back at her. It was at that moment that he heard a rather familiar voice, a fellow Quidditch Captain. Miss Eeva Levan. "Morning Eeva. I was just chatting to your friend, I'm not trying to employ her as a spy I swear," he chuckled, running a hand through his hair out of force of habit. "And I was just about to introduce myself," he turned to Naomi, offering his hand for a hand shake, "I'm Zane, it's nice to meet you."

She watched the intertraction between to the two, sitting on her broom sideways, hands resting on the wood. Her uniform was covered in old mud from her last game, showing how she believed it was starting to get pointless cleaning it every day. Her googles rested on her head, foggy and somewhat clean. Well, somewhat being the keyword.
""Teammate? And yeah... couldn't really hold onto it and myself up here. Ah well, though. I'm sure I'll make it down somehow."
So she wasn't part of the team? Eeva blinked, staring at the girl in deep thought. Oh right, she wasn't. Just someone who liked to fly. "Sorry about that. My mind hasn't been that awake these past few days. Its been rather preoccupied so to speak." She gave a chuckle, and a nod, feeling the wind blow. Yes, her mind was rather in many places, between James and his ex{ that woman who she wished didn't exist}, and the general chaos going around.
"Morning Eeva. I was just chatting to your friend, I'm not trying to employ her as a spy I swear." Zane replied at her direction, causing her to glance at her fellow captain. He dragged a hand threw his hair in response.
She smiled, giving a nod before waving her hand in dismissal. "Its alright Zane. I'm just playing with you." She added giving a soft laugh.

He was right; she could just summon her broom up to her. But the issue was getting to her wand, which was tucked safely and snuggly in her back pocked.
"Yep, it's a cleansweep. And it's one of the nuermous loves of my life, except that I fear if I reach for my wand, I won't be able to use my love for months because I'd have broken several bones from the fall." Naomi laughed and nodded her head to either side, motioning toward the fact that she had to keep her grip.
Still though, she thought she might have an idea.
Her housemate, Eeva, spoke up then. Naomi watched the two interact with her head cocked to the side, a twinkle of interest and fire in her eyes. She still gripped the sides of the ring, but began to lossen her fingers slightly. Naomi had to admit, there was part of her that just wanted to let go and see what would happen and if she could keep herself from falling... even the idea sent sparks of adrenaline through her system. And there were two people around now who would undoubtedly catch her if she did fall.
"Oh, no worries, Eeva. I like to play but I'm not one for rules, so..." She laughed and left it at that. Naomi was definitely more of a freeflyer. She loved the game and her father had taught her since she was young, but she wasn't one to stick to schedules and practices and team strategies... she just wanted to do her own thing. And she did.
"Hi Zane and Eeva. I'm Naomi. How wonderful to meet you. And in such..." As she spoke, she quickly released her grip with one hand, which immediately caused her weight to slip as her balance shifted. Before she could slide off her thin perch, she grabbed onto the end of Zane's broom, and awkwardly balanced herself once again. "...exciting circumstances." She finished.
Then, with as much oomph as she could, she launched herself off of the ring and onto the back of the unsuspecting Eeva's broom, using her grip on Zane's to make sure she didn't plummet to the earth below.
She managed to grab onto Eeva and steady herself, but just barely. The wind whipped at her hair and her cheeks flushed a pink from the exertion. The sun was still glowing brightly and blanketing them in a warm light.
"Thanks!" She announced, glad that her teammate was there.
