if i lay here, if i just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world? the entire school was in a hysterical hype for the welcoming ball that evening. all the students had been let out early from school in order to get ready for the dance after dinner. all the girls had run giggling off to their dormitories to make themselves up, while the guys had dilly-dallied around, trying not to seem to excited for the upcoming festivities.
rosie had been one of those giggling girls. she and her large posse of giggling huffles had hurried to their common room to start getting ready. rosie had jumped in the shower, standing under the water for a little under a half hour to wash off the feeling of the school day, and to clear her head. her last class of the day had been defense againt the dark arts, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something just wasn't right.
of course, she shouldn't have been able to shake that feeling. nothing was going according to plan in her world. her clandestine relationships with professor lupin was on the rocks. she was trying her best to forget what he'd done with victoire, considering they'd been drunk. but then again, her and him had been drunk the first time they kissed too, and look where that had led.
scorpius had asked her to the ball, and she'd said yes before even thinking. rosie didn't know if scorp thought they were going as friends or something more. of course, considering the last time they'd met, rosie suspected he thought they were something more. but rosie didn't know if she wanted it to be.
she shook those thoughts out of her head, finally stepping out of the shower in a cloud of steam and wrapping a towel around herself. the bathroom of the sixth year hufflepuff girls' dormitory was swarming with girls, all in different steps of getting ready. rosie slid past all of them, heading to her bunk where her dress had been hung since that morning.
one of her friends helped her into it. it was a massive dress, completely gorgeous, but a hassle even at best. a few of her friends were already done getting themselves ready, so they helped her pin part of her hair back and lace diamond flower pins through her hair. one friend did her makeup while another one painted her nails a gold color. rosie felt like she should tell them she could do it herself, but everytime she tried, the pushed her back into the chair and babbled about how she'd look completely gorgeous when they were finished.
and she did.
when rosie opened her eyes and stood up, she hardly even recognized herself. she tried smiling, but her grin looked out of place among the gold and satin masterpiece that was her costume. she twirled in place for her friends before slipping on the flower ring she'd been planning to wear for the evening, spraying a bit of perfume on her neck, and heading out the door of the common room.
considering all the young women were supposed to descend from above and all the young men were supposed to wait at the bottom, a few secret passageways had been built by the house elves in the days prior to the ball to ensure everything would go according to plan. giggling with her friends, rosie made her way up through the side passageway to the top of the grand staircase. from there, she stood in a small pod of girls, trying to spot her date in the crowd of men in tuxes below.
finally, she gave up and simply decided to make her way down the stairs. everyone was ogling the girls at the top, but no one seemed to mind them once they reached the bottom. and rosie hated being ogled at. however, as she broke away from the crowd and made her way down the stairs, it felt like every eye in the entire entrance hall was fixed on her.
she prayed to god scorpius was somewhere at the bottom of those stairs waiting to step in and save her.

can you feel this magic in the air? it must have been the way you kissed me, Vivienne had been anticipating all day for the ball, In the morning, she had woken up with a bounce in her step, she couldn't wait to show off her dress and her date. For that night, and hopefully many more, different, nights, she had her mother owl her the outfit she desired, and she had given no complaint. Vivi, herself, had given a complaint to her mother in return; when she had owled her and asked for an outfit based off of the muggle movies about some james bond character, she hadn't asked for a whole outfit, undergarments and jewelry and all. Now, Vivi usually wouldn't bother to complain, but when she had pulled her dress out and seen the other items her mother had sent with it, her cheeks had turned crimson and her jaw had hit with floor.
Complaints aside, she really did love her outfit. The dress she had was completely gorgeous, and though she hated their pureblood wealth, she loved flaunting it very much. Most of her outfit consisted of either diamonds, white gold, or a ruby. Her mother truly had gone all out, and Vivi truly understood why; her mother wanted to spend as much money on her while she still could. After being saved by Zane, James, and Vlad, she had written home to her mother about it, though the headmaster and professors didn't want it to get out, but nothing was going to stop Vivienne Malfoy; she was going to tell her mother what happened, and tell her who she was dating, and tell her what side she was on, and her mother had replied and told her she was fine with all of it, that had made Vi's life so much simpler.
After classes had ended early, Vivi had practically dashed to the common room, trying to make sure she'd have hot water for when she showered; luckily enough, she was first one there, and she knew the reason why, she was teetering around like a skank in three inch high heels, she was wearing a pair of ballet flats instead. She quickly showered, washing her hair and the dirt off of her body, then getting out, she dried off and slipped on her black robe. She was slipping behinds the curtains of her bed in no time, standing up on the bed as she did so and pulled her dress down. She had used a sticking charm to stick it along with top side of her bed, knowing some girls could get a little touchy and take some expensive things, Vivi had become an expert at hiding her stuff.
Standing back on solid ground, she grinned at a fourth year who had taken refuge in there dorm room, apparently her best friend was a fifth year so she was getting ready with her, Vivi didn't really care, as long as she didn't get in her way. She slipped her undergarments on under her robe, then slipped the robe off. She was amazed as the corset automatically suctioned itself to her waist and pushed against her chest, successfully pushing it up and gaining a nice amount. Now slightly decently dressed, she picked up her earlier discarded wand and dried her hair, then curled it into loose waves, all while reading the spells off of the list her mother had sent her. Her hair was now in loose, soft curls, and grabbing a few bobby pins, she shifted it all over onto her right shoulder and pinned the hairs coming from her left side to stay on her right.
Proud of her hair success, she quickly took to doing her makeup, receiving some quick help from a passing by seventh year on her eyeshadow, which was a blackish brown smokey eye. She had simple eyeliner, placed both on her waterline and in the corners of her eye, along with mascara and the basic foundation, she then smeared on a soft red lipstick and flashed a smile at herself in her mirror, her makeup was stunningly done and looked good on her. She then slipped on her snake ring and placed her earrings in the correct way. One of the last things she did was slip on her dress, at first, it was slightly to big in the waist and chest, and slightly too long, then it slowly shrunk down to fit her body shape perfectly; magic had yet to stop amazing Vivi.
She then slipped on her shoes, immediately gaining about three inches of height, and now her dress was just the right length. Finally, she slipped on her last bit of jewelry; a ruby heart that lay right in her breasts, easily seen in the dress she currently wore. Spritzing some perfume onto her wrists and neck, she pulled the dress aside slightly, happy that the slit in it only went as high as mid thigh and completely covered her right leg, she grabbed the garter her mother had sent, she same garter she had gotten married in, and quickly slipped it over her shoe and up her leg, then slipped her wand between it and her thigh, grinning at it stuck in place; sometimes she really did love the tricks her mother had up her sleeve, she truly was a genius.
Smirking, her and only one other fifth year were ready so far, so they decided instead of waiting on all the others, they'd just walk down over together, and so they did, chatting and complimenting each other the whole way. The other female had chosen a Cinderella theme, and she wore a gorgeous, floor length light blue dress, it had one shoulder and shimmered in the light, her hair was blonde, naturally, and was up in a pretty twist, and she wore silver high heels, Vivi couldn't help but feel short, even though she had an additional three inches to her height. She loved her mother, but she had cursed her with being short. Taking all the additional turns that they had to in order to get to the top of the staircase, where many other girls stood chatting, some even trying to stand there and look sexy, most failing at it, Vivi said goodbye to her fellow fifth year and looked around the area at the bottom of the staircase with calculating eyes, searching out her date.
On her search, she did spot a familiar figure, the one of a dazzling miss Rosie Weasley, and with a sigh of relief, happy she found someone she knew, she took to going down the stairs gracefully after her, hoping to catch her before she found whomever it was that was her date. Vivienne really hadn't kept up with people date's the only date she really remembered was her own, and it was the only one she really needed to remember. Finally reaching Rosie, with a grace she didn't know she had ever possessed, she slipped beside her and said softly,"Rosie, you look awfully beautiful tonight, who are you trying to impress?" Then flashed her the best smile she could with out it being a full blown teeth showing one or being a small smirk. She felt a few eyes on her, but she didn't care, as long as she was close to someone she knew it didn't bother her.

Post by Eeva Bella Levan on Jul 3, 2011 18:15:28 GMT
It was the day, that perfect day. One that she been waiting all her life. And in all honesty, she never expected that she would have a date. And yet, she shouldn't be surprised. Eeva Levan smiled brightly as she finished her last class of the day, having ran toward the hufflepuff common room, glad she was wearing her flats. With a bright smile, she nodded to her fellow house mates, before rushing to her bed. There she grabbed her robe, towel, and undergarments, rushing to attack a shower before anyone else thought twice.
The captain smiled happily letting the warm water soak into her skin, enjoying the feel of the water hitting her form. She didn't take a long one, just long enough to get the grime out of her hair and off her form. Soon, the shower was clicked off, and she was drying off the access water that was dripping down her skin. She quickly tugged on her lace panties, tugging on her robe. She tugged open the door, letting another girl rush in while drying her hair as she went back to her bed.
Rosie had already finished having done her final touches to her dress. She gave a smile and a nod to her, along with a wave as she headed out of the common room to head toward the entrance hall. It was going to be a huge event that was for sure, and she hoped that nothing would go wrong here. That and she hoped those who were captured would enjoy this night.
Eeva shook those thoughts away, turning toward her outfit that her aunt had sent to her, smiling as she understood her so well. Her and her date, a Mr. James Potter, decided that Van-Helsing was the best bet to them. Funny. But fitting. And while other girls wore dresses, ones long and loud, she was going to be wearing a skirt, a black lace leather skirt to be precise. She tugged it on, smiling at how it wasn't tight against her hips, but light. She gave a test run, spinning around in a circle, smiling at how it worked. God she loved her aunt. She knew exactly what she liked. She turned toward the corset, tugging at the ribbon.
The robe fell to a heap on the ground as she tugged the corset over her waist and chest, before tugging the ribbon tight and firm against her chest. A sung fit, fitting her perfect. Now decently dressed, with all that was left her shoes and the accessories and make up, she decided it was the best to get her hair done. Glancing around for her wand, she did a spell putting it up behind her eyes, and held it together with a red and black ribbon, with a bit of lace. Her face was showing, beaming in happiness and excitement.
Eeva nodded to her house mates, before tugging on her loud socks, of mulitcolors, then her boots. She wasn't one for heels, and she wasn't starting today. These boots fit her outfit, and gave her some height. So it worked. The bracelets were placed on next, then the skull necklace that her aunt bought of her. Her wand was place into her boot, were it would hopefully stay the entire night.
After borrowing a bit of makeup from one of the other girls, she smiled at her looks at the mirror, eying each detail. Yes. James would love it.
With a visible bounce in her step, she waved to her house mates, heading off out of the common room, toward the stairs. And from there she came to the entrance hall, were she came toward Rosie and a Miss Viv, smiing at them both. "Hello~ My, don't you both look wonderful!" She replied, giving a happy smile hands clasping behind her back.
It was going to be a fun night indeed.

The Welcome Ball: Damian had been waiting for this moment since it had been announced a few weeks ago...even before he was kidnapped by that freak professor, he'd thought about asking a certain Louis Weasley to accompany him. In disguise, of course...right, he had thought it would be impossible to arrive at the ball with a Weasley of all people and maintain even a degree of his self-respect and dignity. Ridiculous.
Then things had changed...he'd been captured without much of a cause--after all, he hadn't personally disposed of that Ravenclaw girl--and he'd spent quite a long time in the basement of the Three Broomsticks, during which he had a lot of free time to think things over. Who could say that he would live a long life? What if he died before he was forty? Thirty? He didn't want to spend the rest of his life catering to other peoples' demands and expectations...he wanted to spend it doing what he loved, being with the person he cared about. If that person happened to be Louis Weasley, then so be it. He'd already gained assurance that the Gryffindor cared for him, and that he wasn't being true to himself by keeping alliance with the New Order. That made things so much simpler. After he'd been rescued--of course, by the weasel (and his good for nothing cousin, but he'd try to forget that part)--he had reassured his Gryffindor that his feelings were reciprocated in full.
That, of course, was when he'd asked him to the ball. No masks, no deception, just them going as a legitimate couple. Sure, all hell may break loose, but he at least had Kianthra on his side and she would be a big help he was sure. He knew he'd always loved that girl for a reason.
He wondered momentarily, as he pulled on his costume for the evening (how he'd agreed to go as a prince and allow himself to be seen with a silly Muggle rendition of a mermaid, he had no clue), how Louis would feel about him staying true to his cause and not wavering into the uncertainty of a neutral position. He knew the likelihood of a Weasley completely turning sides was slim to none, but perhaps his newly discovered boyfriend could appreciate him having an adamant system of beliefs and following through with them...maybe. Then again, his beliefs involved eradicating Muggles--he'd put the ones who made this godawful movie at the top of his list--so maybe the part-veela would have a thing or two to say about that.
He finished putting on his costume and fixed his hair as best he could, wondering how he'd managed to get those same unruly curls that his lovely aunt Bella had been infamous for having. Damn genes. He carefully placed the crown he'd had owled in onto his head, securing it magically and making sure it was on straight. He slipped on the boots he'd be wearing for the evening and took a look at himself in the mirror, double-checking so that nothing was out of place...if he was to play a prince, he certainly wanted to look the part. He'd even received some ancestral medals from his mother and a sword that he'd dulled with magic and spelled to stay fast in its sheath for the evening. His wand he placed between himself and the sheath, sliding it into a special pocket for such things so it would be ready if and when he needed it.
Making his way down to the bottom of the grand staircase via a special path the house elves had forged in the last week or so, he walked around a bit and nodded to familiar faces as he looked around and wondered where the hell that Weasley had gone. Surely he wouldn't be coming down the stairs with the girls...although, as he thought about it, that would be quite amusing.

Post by Cedric Chang Corner on Jul 5, 2011 23:33:09 GMT
Chang had hurried back to the Hufflepuff common room as soon as classes let out, needing as much time as possible to get ready. Grabbing the tiny bag that had all his items magically stuffed into it, he ran back out and down to the prefect's bathroom. Due to the nature of his costume for the evening, he didn't want the other sixth year guys making fun of him as he got ready. He'd asked the lovely Louis to be his assistant in getting into his costume, but before the Gryffindor arrived he'd have time to bathe and fix his hair. Slipping into the grand tub and turning various handles to give the water a soft and sweet scent--with bubbles, of course--he relaxed and tried not to be nervous about the night ahead. After getting out of the tub twenty minutes later, squeaky clean and completely relaxed, he spelled his hair dry and used magic to form it into a traditional-looking partial up-do. When he'd slipped on his boxers and the under-layer of his robe-like dress, he walked over to the door in hopes that Lou had arrived on time.
He peeked out of the door and spotted Lou, waving him over quickly. "Hey...thanks again for helping out," he said with a smile, stepping up onto a short stool and instructing Lou in the complex steps of putting on the dress. After he was finally dressed, wrapped tightly in the silk and lace of the long traditional dress, he stretched slightly and smiled at Lou. "Well...I guess you have a lot to do now, hm? Let me know if you need any help," he said softly and motioned toward the bath so Lou knew he could get ready there if he had his stuff and wanted to. He walked over to a vanity that had a chair in front of it, and sat down to finish the rest of his outfit.
He put on the small shoes and the jewelry his mother had given him, pulling out the makeup and being careful in applying it since he wasn't accustomed to wearing a lot. As he started on the eyeshadow, he couldn't help but giggle at himself in the mirror--he seriously was starting to look like a girl, and somehow that was funny. He just hoped Narcisso would still be able to recognize him. He hoped his date would like it, dress and all...for the first time, he was really concerned with impressing a guy.
He finished up with the makeup and stood, twirling in front of the mirror and making sure everything looked perfect; it did. He looked almost like a doll, and as he slipped the black flower into his hair he knew the look was complete at last. Turning back to see Lou was finished as well, he chuckled at his fishy friend and smiled at him. "Well, you look nice...very good work on the floating charm too, by the way," he said and laughed again before gesturing to his own outfit. "So...what do you think?" he asked, a bit nervous again now that it was really time to go.
Locking arms with his best friend, Chang made his way through the halls and down the passageway the girls were using to get to the top of the grand staircase. He hadn't planned to be grouped in with the girls, but the opportunity to make a grand entrance was just too tempting to ignore. As they walked past the gaggle of women who seemed to fall silent as they passed, he smirked slightly and looked at Lou. "Ready to turn some heads?" he asked and turned his eyes to the collection of students at the bottom of the stairs. They walked down amid whispers from the crowd, Chang smiling brightly as he looked around for Narcisso. Not seeing his date immediately, his smile faltered for just a moment...then he saw someone else.
Alec Dalakis...the vampire he'd fallen so hard for a few weeks back, and had risked life and limb to stay by his side. He blushed slightly, remembering the several nights they'd spent together and all the lingering feelings he still had for the Zyanov student. He smiled at Lou as he watched him walk off toward his Slytherin prince, turning and walking toward the unsuspecting vampire.
"Hello Alec," he said softly and smiled just slightly up at him, wondering if his former lover would even recognize him in his current state. Alec was looking quite nice as well, the fancy clothing and neat hat making him look rather sophisticated (or silly, depending on how one chose to look at it). Considering that the ice queen (also known as Alec's girlfriend Charlotte) hadn't made her appearance yet, he figured he'd take advantage and at least approach him...especially since it could very well be the last time.

The welcome ball, something that he never thought he would enjoy, and want to actually attend. When the first annoncement hit, he wasn't at all looking forward to it, even if it was required. And yet, that was weeks ago. Now, he couldn't be happier, and a little excited truthly. For he wasn't just going with anyone. He was going with a miss Charolette Crouch, the leader of the DE, the slytherin head girl...all the above.
Of course, Alec Dalakis wasn't that thrilled of the theme of the ball. To him it could of been better, and more entertaining. Instead, it was muggle themed, consisting of all the sappy love stories. And yet...there was one that his love and him decided was best. The movie, Alice in Wonderland, the dark verision, not the disney one.
He couldn't help but crack a smile as he stood in the Zyanov bathroom, having just finished a decent content shower. Now, he stood with wearing brown pants, and gray socks, his dress shirt laying over the conter next to him. The smile stayed on his lips as he thought of the night that awaited him, finishing off the shaving. After all, he should look his best for his Lottie. He slapped water on his face, and neck, breathing out a breath at the smell. Nice. Decent.
Alec made surehe was clean, before tugging on his shirt, buttoning it up. Then came the black vest, then the bow-tie. And then the hat. THe hat had to be perfect. After all, he wasn't protraying the mad-hatter for nothing.
He took a breath placing it on his head, looking at himself in the mirror, slipping on the shoes, afterwards. His eyes glanced over his form, smiling. He enjoyed this. Taking a moment, he stopped shoving his wand into his side pocket, then heading off toward the ball. His feet hit the ground as he stood, leaning back against the wall. And then...he saw Chang. "...Chang? Is that you? God, you look...I mean..." He muttered shocked...and speachless.

Chang bit his lip slightly as he waited for Alec's reaction, but when he got it all he could do was laugh in that way that made his eyes into crescents and his lips into thin pink lines over his pearly white teeth. Once he'd recovered he smiled confidently up at the vampire, placing a hand on his hip despite how ridiculous it looked in his old-fashioned dress. "Incredible? Fabulous? Yeah, I know. You don't look half bad yourself," he complimented in a soft voice, his eyes looking a little sad even as he continued smiling. "Alice in Wonderland...I think you would've been better off playing the white rabbit. Still a little crazy, but a lot more cuddly," he said with another laugh and sighed softly.
He glanced around them, wondering where Narcisso was, or if he would be stood up for the evening; still not seeing his date, he turned back to Alec. "I know I probably shouldn't say this, since you've just made things right in your actual relationship and all," he said softly, staring up at him with an almost morose expression. "...but I've missed you. I know it doesn't count for much--we both have people we care about, and that's what should really matter...I just felt like telling you the truth," he said in a voice low enough to hopefully keep the conversation between the two of them.

As he watched the male who brought his other side out to him, the bi-sexual side to be precise, the vampire walked around him inspecting each detail. Honestly, seeing Chang in a dress wasn't much a surprise. It was more of how beautiful he looked in a dress, the detail and everything. That was what sucked him in more.
He chuckled softly, stopping in front of him. His hand rested inside his pocket as his other one fixed his top hat. "Don't be like that Chang. The White Rabbit wouldnt of fit me at all. For I am not as you say, adoreable. Dressed as the Mad-hatter fits me much better then some animal." He replied watching him quietly. He stopped running his finger along the top hat, instead thinking over what the hufflepuff said.
Yes. There was some part of that missed him, but he loved Lots...She was his world. And yet, he couldn't help but feel like he was missing this male. Greatly. "Chang, I know. I miss you too. There's just something about you that I miss. Its kinda weird but I do miss you." He answered, giving a sigh. He shook his twisted emotions away. "Anyway, who are you going to the Ball with?" He questioned, deciding to change the subject.

Chang just stood still as Alec circled him, feeling a rather familiar pounding in his chest that always tended to happen when the vampire got a little too close for comfort...or in this case, when he just wasn't close enough. He looked up at him once he'd stopped circling, stepping just slightly closer and smirking.
"Come on...you, an animal? From what I remember, that comparison isn't so far-fetched...besides, you could have been a rabid White Rabbit. Then you could have played up the crazy a bit," he said and smiled more from amusement then. It wasn't just the physical contact he'd been missing from Alec...it was the fact that despite the other male being broody and serious and all that, he could pretty much say or do whatever he wanted and get away with it. Somehow the thought of Alec being a pushover for cuteness was just entertaining.
He came to his senses when he heard the vampire's question, his smile slipping a bit as he remembered...he was dating Narcisso now. He shouldn't even be thinking of Alec at this point, and he definitely wasn't supposed to be coming on to a guy who broke his heart by choosing someone else over him. (Not that he had much of a chance...he'd been the "other one" from the start, after all.)
"Um...I'm here with Narcisso Grimm," he murmured and looked down, wondering if it made him a bad person to still care about Alec when he was already supposed to have moved on. He glanced around the entrance hall, sighing as part of him wished that Narcisso (and for that matter, Charlotte) would forget to show up and they might be stuck together...though a more rational side of him was begging for his date to show up as soon as possible so he would have less chance of getting upset, crying, and subsequently ruining his carefully done makeup.

Alec watched him, listening to his words, closing his eyes. Why did some part of him break when he heard he was with another vampire,...? Why did it hurt that much? He shouldn't be caring about this boy, this mortal. He should be caring about Lots, and only her. So why couldn't he stop caring about this damn hufflepuff?!
The vampire gave a deep breath in response focusing calmly before he spoke. "Ah i see Chang. I hope Naracisso treats you well, better then I ever did. At least you have a chance with him, a chance to be happy right?" He smiled, despite how his emotions were feeling. He shouldn't be this upset about the fact that Chang has someone else. He shouldn't! And yet he was. He was turning soft...He sighed, out a breath rubbing the back of his neck. "If he doesnt, you can always come to me and ask for assistance." He muttered softly.

narcisso grimm was never one to attend big functions, any big function, really. no parties, no balls, no little games with a group; nothing. he didn't enjoy being in cramped spaces with tens of other people. it was ridiculous. so, when it was announced all zyanov students had to attend this welcome ball, he had obviously become uncomfortable. he was not, nor would her ever be, the life of any type of party. he had never really enjoyed partying when he was in the states, but suffered through it for learnings sake. when he was still human and a young lad, he had suffered through the rich people parties some of the local families had, he had hated those to bits.
whilst in search of a date, he had met chang corner, and ultimately knew he had to have the half-asian. his blood had sung to nar, it had called for him, and so had changs body. then nar was allowed the pleasure of getting to know chang, and some how he knew, he just knew, that he wanted to be with chang corner for possibly forever. vampires intuition? just maybe it was. all nar knew was that tonight, if possible, he wanted to have a taste of that sweet blood, or that delicious body. the need was getting just too strong for him.
after dressing accordingly to how he and chang had planned, with an additional yellow flower in his hair and batman boxers beneath his dress thing, which for the life of him he couldn't remember the name of. he had only needed a small amount of help getting it on, luckily he had a two-hundred-year-old chinese vampire as a close friend, and he helped put it on him. nars hair was brushed through to pristine condition, the it spiked out slightly at the end due to natural tendencies, with a yellow flower behind his bangs. he had ran a bit late that day due to doing a little extra feeding so he wouldn't lose it around chang, but he at least had enough time to put his shoes on, then start running.
by the time he had arrived to the entrance hall, many girls had already descended the stairs and found their dates. his own dates had found alec dalakis, and he had walked in with enough time to hear the other males last words, quickening his pace slightly, his fake sword bouncing on his hip, he came up from behind chang, wrapping his arm around the smallers tiny, almost feminine, waist and said,"not to worry, dalakis. i'm not that type." then, looking at chang, he said,"i am so sorry i'm late, it took me a second to figure out to get this on." he then gestured at what clothed his body, something that he personally called,'the purple monster.' due to it's bright purple color.

Chang felt his eyes start to water when he heard Alec's calm reaction to the new bit of information...so that was how it was going to be. He was supposed to move on, forget about everything, just let it slide and ignore the fact that he still obviously had feelings that were at least semi-reciprocated by this guy; move on, get over it, and live like it never even mattered. He knew how impossible it felt...hell, it felt like a heavy weight had settled on his chest, like he'd never get up again...but he'd be damned if he let a silly breakup--no matter how not silly it felt--ruin his evening, much less his life.
He stepped back again when he heard Alec's offer of assistance in the future, a frown darkening his pretty features slightly as he realized what was happening: he was trying to keep a line open, a trail of breadcrumbs that would keep them connected if only slightly, like a "back up plan".
Oh hell no.
Like an answer to his unspoken prayer, he felt Narcisso's arms wrap securely around his waist and stepped back into him, relaxing slightly as he stared Alec down. "I won't be needing your assistance, Alec," he said in a rather unusually cold tone, turning to walk past his boyfriend and toward the great front doors; he held to Nar's hand tightly the whole time...now he needed to work on not crying, not ruining their evening, and getting some fresh air before plunging into the crowd to dance the pain away.
