“Uh… it’s fine, really.” Spencer stood awkwardly, trying his best not to make direct eye contact with his companion. The obvious surprise in her tone was a little too much for him to handle, and – Merlin, that really better not have been gratitude in her eyes. Somehow, the auror doubted he could handle any more emotional trauma (being around expressive people never was something that he’d enjoyed all that much), which made it more than a slight relief when Jessa decided it was time to move on.
Hesitantly smiling back at the brunette, Spencer put his hands in his pockets. Talking was his brother’s forte; while Brent could natter on for hours, Spencer found it hard to keep a conversation going for more than a few minutes before becoming uninteresting to everyone around. “No, I mean, I guess not.” Fidgeting a little more, he continued talking - any moment now, he’d start breaking into a nonsensical ramble that would be completely impossible to follow. “Guess we’re the perfect match for each other, huh?”
Once Spencer had realised what he’d just said, he made a little noise of embarrassment before looking down at the ground. Y’know, it’d be really great if his brain-to-mouth filter would start working again right about now.

She had him fidgeting like and awkward teenager, and Jessa was pleased to note she’d caused that behaviour in him. “Yeah, I guess so, Big Boy.” She laughed again. Jessa could think of worse men to be matched up with, a lot worse.
The witch then turned around abruptly, it wouldn’t be good to stay in one place for too long, even with Spencer. “I’ll see you around.” She called over her shoulder and then apparated away before the auror could change his mind about her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
